But what exactly are embossing and debossing? Embossing is the process of creating raised and textured designs in materials like paper and cardstock, while debossing achieves the opposite effect, pushing the material downwards to create a 'sunken' look. Our 3-D Embossing Folders seamlessly combine these techniques to deliver a stunning three-dimensional result.

Using a 3-D Embossing Folder is a breeze. Simply grab your Sizzix Big Shot machine and one Cutting Pad to get started. For best results with cardstock, lightly mist the material with water before placing it inside the folder – this will help create an even deeper impression. Place the folder on your platform, top it with the cutting pad, and roll it through the machine. Voila! Your 3-D design is now revealed.

An Adapter Platform is required when using embossing folders with any of the Sizzix Big Shot machines. This platform should be placed underneath the folder and cutting pad sandwich. If you've already purchased a Sizzix Big Shot machine, your Adapter Platform is included. It's important to note that the Magnetic platform is not compatible with Embossing and 3-D Embossing Folders, as the platform is too high.

While we always recommend using Sizzix embossing folders with Sizzix machines for optimal results, we understand that some crafters may have alternative machines.
