Die cutting is a quick and easy way of producing individual or mass shapes from paper, foil, cardstock, or even chipboard using a machine and die, instead of cutting by hand. The die, not the machine itself, is responsible for physically cutting the material. Therefore, when considering the compatibility of a die, it's essential to check the die's capabilities rather than the machine's.

Using a Thinlits die is straightforward. Start by placing one of the Standard Cutting Pads (655093) on your Sizzix Big Shot Machine (660200), then place the Thinlits die on top. Next, position your chosen material on the die, and complete the sandwich with the second cutting pad. With one roll through the die-cutting machine, your design will be revealed.

When using Thinlits dies with any of the Sizzix Big Shot machines, an Adapter Platform (658992) will be required. Simply place this under the sandwich you've created, and you're ready to go. If you've already purchased one of the Sizzix Big Shot machines, your adapter is included!

Thinlits dies allow you to cut intricate designs from a single sheet of paper, card, metallic foil, vellum, shrink plastic, and stencil film. Framelits, on the other hand, provide a perfect cutting registration, making them excellent for cropping photos and cutting windows in cards, bags, boxes, and scrapbook pages.
