What is die-cutting? Die-cutting is a quick and easy way of producing individual or mass shapes from paper, foil, cardstock, or even chipboard using a machine and die, rather than cutting by hand. While the die-cutting machine applies the pressure, it's the chosen die (such as a Sizzix Bigz, Thinlits, or Framelits die) that is responsible for cutting the design. So, when determining if you can die-cut a particular material, it's the compatibility of your die that you should check, not your machine.

Using a Thinlits die is easy! Start by grabbing your Sizzix Big Shot Machine (660200) and Standard Cutting Pads (655093). Place one cutting pad on your work surface, then the Thinlits die on top. Next, place your chosen material on the die. Complete the "sandwich" by adding the second cutting pad on top of the Thinlits die and material. Finally, run the entire assembly through your die-cutting machine, and your design will be revealed. Note that an Adapter Platform (658992) will be required when using Thinlits dies with any of the Sizzix Big Shot machines. Simply place the adapter under the sandwich you've created, and you're ready to go!
