What exactly is embossing and debossing? Embossing is the process of creating raised and textured designs in materials such as paper and cardstock, while debossing is the same idea, though instead of raising the material, it pushes the material downwards, to create a 'sunken' effect. Our 3D Embossing Folders do both to create that impressive 3D effect!

Using a 3D Embossing Folder is easy! Simply grab your Big Shot Machine (660200) and Standard Cutting Pads (655093) to get started. Firstly, place your chosen paper or cardstock inside the folder, and for best results when using cardstock, spray a little water on the material before placing it inside the folder. This will help to create an even deeper impression! Place the folder on top of your first cutting pad and complete the sandwich with your second cutting pad placed on the top. With one roll through your die cutting machine, your 3D design will be revealed! Note: An Adapter Platform (658992) will be required when using embossing folders with any of our Sizzix Big Shot machines. Simply place this under the sandwich you've created and you're ready to go!
